Chandra was a volunteer Sky-Warn weather
spotter and set up storm alerts for that someday
hail storm that might fall in Bend, OR to allow a
chance to visit someday. 8 years later that alert
went off and they were dispatched to come up and
repair a lot of the hail damaged automobiles in the
area and never left!
Tom, a U.S. Navy Veteran, is known around the
world for his paintless dent repair technique and
has been a PDR technician for over 16 years
now. When he started out in PDR, it was still
relatively new and wasn’t really known outside of
the automobile manufacturers. Tool manufactures

Tom & Chandra’s personal commitment to their family mirrors their dedication to their
business. Auto Art Paintless Dent Repair was started 16 years ago out of Garland, Texas.
(A suburb of Dallas, Texas).
They have been married 22 years and have three beautiful children and two grandchildren.
Their oldest daughter graduated from college in Iowa May 2008. Their son graduated from
high school a full year early May 2006 and is currently attending his third year of college in
Texas. Their youngest child is currently attending middle school here in Bend.
Tom and Chandra moved their business headquarters to Bend, OR in June of 2006. They
chose Bend, Oregon due to what a charming community Bend is and the surrounding areas
are along with the beautiful scenery. It’s like living in a post card.

They discovered Bend in the early 90’s when they used to be sponsored cross country mountain bike racers back in Texas. One of
their sponsers was Metro Volkswagen of Irving (see picture below). The bike magazines and other riders they knew talked highly about
Bend being one of the best places to live.
were still learning what a technician needed to repair dents. A good assortment of tools was hard to come by. So he and another tech
would get together some nights to create and make their own tools in order to have the right tools to repair dents at the majority of the
automotive dealership lots in the Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas area. As PDR grew in the early 90’s, he helped in the testing and designing
of new tools for a couple manufacturing companies.
Tom has been in the automotive industry for 32 years. He started as a lot boy for a Chevrolet dealership when he was 16. His extensive
paintless dent repair & automotive experience along with working on automobiles for a hobby, owning a detail shop, and working in body
shops and being an assistant manager for an automotive paint supply store, gets him called in for the real tough jobs. He’s a highly
skilled master technician that gets called in to help handle and manage difficult situations because of his knowledge and experience.
Such as special assignments for automobile factory jobs, overseas jobs, etc. He also trained technicians in the early 90’s.
If Tom can’t fix a dent by PDR; it can’t repaired by Paintless Dent Repair and needs conventional repair.
Chandra is a 13 year PDR technician and has also been in the PDR industry for 16 years. She decided to actually become a pdr
technician, instead of just working part time in the background helping run the business (while working a fulltime job as a Sales Executive
in the cable television industry) after she was training one morning on her mountain bike and hit a car head on. She was out of work for
a while and then became pregnant with her last child. Instead of transferring with her Sales Executive job from Plano, TX to Englewood,
CO she decided to dedicate herself full time to the family business and learn the art of being a paintless dent repair technician.
Chandra, aka Dent Woman, is known for being one of the first women in Paintless Dent Repair and faced many challenging situations to
prove her self to the PDR world. She has been a spokeswoman for the PDR industry working hard behind the scenes for ethical and fair
treatment of technicians and consumers. She was often a liaison between independent technicians and medium to large PDR companies
from large scale hail operations to networking with other small PDR companies across the nation and the world. She’s also an
experienced hail claims adjuster and overseas most of the daily business operations.
Now Tom & Chandra are a local Bend Small Business and are planning to stay and grow with the city.
